Happy Christmas and a Layout

Happy Christmas everyone!!!

How have ya'll been with your Christmas celebration? Well I had a very busy and tiring Christmas eve and Christmas day. We have this tradition which I was doing ever since I was a little girl with my family which I also do with my own family (ayayay). We wake up at 12 midnight to open presents, take photos by the Christmas tree and eat our noche buena. It's really fun especially when you see your kid/s reaction when they open their gifts. I so love it.

Anyway, here's a layout I was able to make today and have uploaded at digishoptalk. I just love this one. The words came from the internet by the way. I made this using Time Flies by Julie Billingsley and Meghan Mullens. The Alpha number is from the kit Noel by Just So Scrappy.

I'll see you again sometime this week. I'm a busy big girl right ow because I'm attending a driving lesson. Yay for me! Teehee. I'm not that excited you know. But I'm definitely nailing this 20kph *wink*

5th Photobook

Hey there! It's been a while huh. How's it going?

I'm in the process of completing another one of my daughter's photobook. And I am really behind. The June 2014 book should have been printed by now and I was supposed to be doing the 6th photobook but unfortunately, I'm doing both. Yeah, I'm really sad about that, but no matter what, I'd like to share a couple of pages today.

This would be the front and back covers of the 5th photobook I'm doing. I used a fiddle dee-dee designs template. The kit I used is from Just So Scrappy and the alpha I used for the word happyness is from a kit I used to ct'd before (let me edit this once I got the right name for you). I just loved that alpha so much.

I also love Kristine Aagard kits. They're just too playful and gummy and they fit for kids layout like this one.

I just want to share to you this layout. I really really loved the outcome of this one. I used a template from Cyndi Schneider and the kit was from Just So Scrappy. See how it looked so summer-y? Yeah I loved this one :)

As years go by, I learn a couple of techniques on how to do a layout. I had my fair share of favorite designers, favorite shadows to use on each elements and papers. I learned a lot from my mistakes from the previous years of making photobooks. And I know that on my next post about my 6th photobook, I'm gonna tell the same thing over because it's constantly happening so long as you continue to sharpen your knowledge through trial and error, reading blogs, checking out galleries and admiring other people's layouts. 4th Printed Photobook

Hey, it's been a long time. A lot of things happened so fast for the last three months and I'm still in the process of acceptance and recovery. Anyway...

Although this is a third book of my daughter, it's my 4th time printing a book. Come on and check it out.

It's an 8x8 47 page 94 back to back photobook. I love this one. And of course, everytime I print a book, I always have something to learn and improve for the next time.

And again, the kits I used were from Just So Scrappy, Crazy 4 Monograms, Jady Day Studio, Kristine CB Design, Kristine Aagard, Trixie Scraps, Mye de Leon, some freebie kits, kits from the previous designers I ct'd, templates from Cindy Schneider, Fiddle Dee Dee and some of my own. I used Bohemian Typewriter for the font, most of the time. I love the verse that I used at the back of the photobook. It represents my daughter's whole year.

Sometimes, I'm thinking how hard could it be to make another photobook for a baby boy. Well, I guess it's for me to find out. happy Scrapping!!

Check Out My Printed 3rd Photobook!

Hi! I know that I promised on one of my blog post about photobook that I will post some photos, so here they are. Sorry it's late :)

It's a 30 page back to back 8x8 photobook compilation of my daughters 2nd year from June 28, 2011 to June 28, 2012. It's hardbound with paper cover and (thick) vellum (or parchment) covers on the front and back.

The kits I used were from various designers like Kay Miller, Just So Scrappy (JSS), Jady Day Studio, kits from my previous designers I ct'd some free kits. The kit I used on the book cover was from JSS and a free template from Fiddle Diddle Dee. I always put a verse on the back cover, the verse I chose actually represents my daughter's whole year.

I'm still working on her 4th photobook and next in line are our 4 road trips, wedding scrapbook, honeymoon scrapbook and some of the photos I took using my heavy camera. Although it's now taking me very long to come to completion, I'm having fun doing it. I hope that you enjoyed looking. Happy Scrapping!!

Busy-ness and 3rd Photobook

I have been very, VERY, very busy. Motherhood and toddlerhood is eating me alive and I willingly welcome the fangs! (I think I've said this before..

So right now I'm completely busy completing my daughter's 3rd photobook. Hurrah for me 'coz I have completed at least 4 layouts since Monday. I'd like to share a couple of layouts.

I love this page. Tee hee. It's neat and clean. I used Butterflies And Blue Jeans by Just So Scrappy. You should really check her out. I'm very much in love with her products. Also, the 3x4 qr code card was a freebie from Tracie Reed.

Another favorite designer of mine, Crazy-4-Monograms. I used her kit called My Hero. I love the elements. They're flexible for any layouts. The letter was a poem (I think) from the web.

This is a free with purchase kit called Doodle Do by Just So Scrappy & Crazy-4-Monograms. Please note, the alpha I used was from the kit I Toadally Love You by Just So Scrappy. The template was from Cindy Schneider Set 149: All Tucked In.

This would be the cover of my daughter's 3rd photobook. I love this page too, tee hee! I used Shabtastic by Just So Scrappy. The template was a freebie from Fiddle Diddle Dee.

Lastly, this will be the back cover of the photobook. Same kit I used for the front cover.

I'm so, so excited to have this photobook printed so I could move on with the 4th photobook. But since my daughter has just turned 3, I have to take one step at a time scrapping.

My Third Photobook Printed Part 1

Oh my!!! I'm so excited to show you my 3rd photobook!! I'm just so so happy! If I haven't mentioned that I made some photobooks for my daughter (one for her 1st birthday guest book and one on her 1st year), I might have forgotten to, lol! So this is my 3rd time making and printing photobooks and each time, I learned something that I wished to share to you.

Here are some pointers should you wish to have your scrap pages printed:

1. Choose you size and layout.

Photobooks vary in sizes and layout. There's 8x8, 12x12, 8.5x11 and 10x10 depending on what each company offers. My 1st photobook is a 12x12 layout. I think it was too big so I changed the 2nd and 3rd to 8x8.

2. Choose the best photos.

Most of the time, we have tons of beautiful photos that we like to include on a page, and sometimes we get confused as to whether to use them all or just a few. It will be up to you. But please consider this: if you will use a photo as background like this one below, choose the one with good resolution or with the largest format. Just to avoid the grainy ish or noise.

3. Mind the bleed.

As explained by Persnickety Prints and I quote, bleed is the amount of space needed to print from edge to edge without a white border. To be sure about how much would be the amount of bleed that you have to consider on your page, ask the company where you will have your photobook printed.

4. Proofread.

You can do it yourself or you can ask your husband or friend or anyone you trust to do it for you. In my case, I asked my husband to proofread some of the pages for me. AND please! After proofreading, make sure that once you saved it in psd (if you are), save it in jpg format. That is what happened to me. I saved each pages in jpg and psd formats,I had the jpgs checked more than twice, edited the psd and save them in psd, but I forgot to save some of them in jpg. I still have the original jpg. Ugh!

5. Journaling/Title

Don't forget your jounaling, this is the best part! This is where you're telling the stories about the photos and the event. Or you could skip the journaling and use the Title to speak for the photos on your page.

Photobook

When my daughter celebrated her first birthday in June, I made a photobook as her guestbook. It's a digiscrap photobook that I enjoyed making. Friends and relatives thought that I had it made by a professional, that I went to a shop.

It was a 42 page 8x8 photobook. It consists of her birth, 1st birthday, 1st Christmas, 1st New Year, 1st Out of town, 1st teething and other special events that happened with in her first year of life. I have already kept pictures after her first birthday so I could include them on her Year Two photobook which I will have printed by next year.
